Chinnook Lifts a Meteor T7
A historic Gloster Meteor T7 jet aircraft has been carried by a Chinook helicopter from Imjin Barracks, Innsworth 1.5 miles to Gloucestershire Airport’s Jet Age Museum..
The aircraft was Britain’s first operational jet plane, developed in 1940. This particular model was built in 1949 and flew some 2,000 hours until 1968.
It was used as a “gate guardian” by the RAF, which was stationed in Innsworth until 2008.
