May figure releases from Pegaso Models
Italy’s Pegaso Models have announced their new releases for May 2010. This month Pegaso maintain their favoured historical, rather than contemporary, theme and treat us to two 75mm (1/24 scale) figures and a 200mm (1/9 scale) bust.
First up is Pegaso’s “Hallberdier of the Spanish Guard” (product code 75-066).
This 75mm (1/24 scale) white metal figure comprises 16 separate pieces. It was sculpted by Angel Terol and the sample figure was painted by Lorenzo Bartolomei. The halberd (sometime also called a halbert or Swiss voulge) is a two-handed pole weapon that came to prominent use during the 14th and 15th centuries and is nicely reproduced in the figure. The kit costs €37,50 (excluding VAT and shipping) direct from Pagaso. Full details of the figure can be found here.
Pagso’s second May release is “Ambiorix Chief of Eubones” (product code 75-067).
Like the Spanish Guard figure, this is a white metal 75mm (1/24 scale) figure, this time constructed from 12 pieces. Sculpted by Benoit Cauchies (and sample figure painted by Diego Ruina), this figure also sells for €37,50 (excluding VAT and shipping) direct from Pagaso. Full details of the figure can be found here.
Pegaso Models’ third release for May is a 200mm (1/9 scale) bust of a “Mongol Warrior” (product code 200-030).
Cast in resin rather than white metal, this 12 pieces model is still a highly detailed release which should provide an enjoyable challenge for all bust and figure painters. It was sculpted by Viktor Konnov, with the sample painted by Danilo Cartacci. This bust costs €43,33 (excluding VAT and shipping) direct from Pagaso. Once again, full details of the release can be found on the Pegaso Model website.
