June’s Club meeting
June’s Club meeting was held on Thursday 17th at our usual venue, The Royal British Legion, Newbury. There was a fair turn-out of Club members as well as a visit from Ian Vallins (yes, another Ian!), a modeller based in Burghfield interested in joining the Club.
The main focus of June’s meeting was our annual quiz. This turned out to be a bit harder than Ian Shumsky had suggested and resulted in lots of groans and head-scratching for the teams. At the end of the marking, the team of John Cooper and Steve Williams were the clear winners and collected the prize of a Revell F.6 Lightning, generously donated by ModelZone Reading, as well as two kits from the Club stash. We also had a series of spot prizes and most walked away with something.
Also distributed to the people present were a number of vouchers for 10% off purchases at ModelZone Reading, valid until the end of July 2010. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Kevin from ModelZone Reading for his generosity to the Club.
