“Normandy and the Newbury connection”
Newbury Scale Model Club are very pleased to announce a guest speaker for May’s Club meeting. Les Taylor will be presenting a talk on the Normandy landings and the Newbury connection, supported by numerous photos, maps and diagrams.
Les’ presentation will cover a number of areas and will be split into four main topics with time for questions at the end. The main talking points will be:
- Introduction and history
- The build up and overall battle plan
- The 9th Battalion Parachute Regiment attack on the Merville Gun Battery
- The U.S 101st Airborne Division attack on the Contain Peninsula
May’s meeting will on Thursday 19th and will be held as usual at the Royal British Legion, Newbury branch, Pelican Lane, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 1NP. Les’ talk will start at 7.45pm and last about 90 minutes.
